The 2nd round of the UIM E1 Race Bird World Championship is taking place in Venice (Italy) opposite the island of St Clemente.
Monaco driver Lisa Caussin-Battaglia and her team-mate Phelim Kavanah (GB) are the two titular drivers of TEAM BLUE RISING (India) to defend the colours of owner VIRAT KOHLI.
A ninth team took part in this world championship, Westbooks Racing (owner WILL SMITH).
The weekend got off to a bad start for the second time this season in qualifying for Team Blue Rising, which finished P9 (DNS). The team was unable to contest the 2 qualifying heats in their entirety due to technical problems.
The semi-finals and finals on Sunday 12 May 2024: 3 legs of 3 boats for the semi-finals, following the arrival of the new American crew, Team Blue Rising finished in 2nd place after 2 legs sailed against TEAM’S DROGBA and CHECO PEREZ.
Team BLUE RISING qualified for the repechage heats after finishing in the semi-finals with TEAM’S BRADY and MIAMI.
The Monegasque team finished last in the repechages and will compete in the ‘PLACE RACE 5-6-7-8’.
Team BLUE RISING finished 8th in the Italian event (GP of VENICE).
With this result and the GP of JEDDAH, the BLUE RISING Team is in 7th position in the overall ranking of the UIM E1 World Team Championship season 2024.
Lisa Caussin-Battaglia and her team-mate will have their work cut out if they are to climb back up the overall rankings in Spain’s Puerto Bagnus on June 1, 2024.
The training sessions will be decisive for the rest of this UIM Electric Formula World Championship for the Monegasque from Team Blue Rising.
