The 2025 sporting season got off to a prestigious start with the awards ceremony for the 2024 UIM Offshore 3D World Champion, Tomaso Polli, held at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo.
This official ceremony celebrated a major world title for Monegasque powerboat racing, rewarding a remarkable season and confirming Monaco’s international reputation at the highest level of motorised water sports.
A historic and eco-friendly UIM world record
Among the highlights of the year, the achievement of a UIM world record using eco-friendly fuel at home will remain a key moment of the season.
This unprecedented feat was accomplished by our licensee Mr Massimiliano Mordenti, demonstrating that it is now possible to combine sporting performance with environmental responsibility. This is a major step forward that positions Monaco as a pioneer in the ecological transition of world powerboat racing.
UIM international sporting successes
On the sporting front, Giacomo Sacchi distinguished himself with a victory in the Formula 2 Inshore Grand Prix in Portugal, against stiff international competition from 18 drivers entered in the championship.
Thanks to his performances, he finished the season in an excellent 5th place in the overall UIM World Championship standings, confirming his place among the world’s elite in the discipline.
Another Monegasque representative on the international scene, Kilian Miano, took part in the UIM Aquabike Runabout GP4 World Championship in Olbia, Sardinia, gaining valuable experience at the highest international level.
Sporting choices and international focus
In the women’s category, our licensee Lisa Caussin-Battaglia did not take part in the UIM Ski Ladies GP1 World Championship, choosing instead to focus on competitions organised by the IJSBA.
Although these competitions are not recognised by the UIM and the FMM, they are part of a personal sporting orientation. It should also be noted that participants in these two separate circuits will not compete together in 2025, as the UIM and IJSBA championships are organised independently, both in terms of sport and regulations.
Monaco, a major player in electric competitions for 2026
The 2025 season also marked an important milestone for the future of powerboating with Monaco’s commitment to the E1 Series world championship, dedicated to 100% electric boats.
The presentation of Team Monaco by H.S.H. Sovereign Prince Albert II highlighted the Principality’s strong involvement in this innovative competition, combining technology, sport and respect for the environment.
Since 2024, Monaco has officially hosted a stage of the E1 Series World Championship in the Principality, confirming its central role in the development of new sustainable water sports.
The spirit of Christmas and a passion for sport
The season ended on a convivial and unifying note with the Christmas event organised by Offroad Club Monaco, in collaboration with the drivers of the clubs affiliated to the Monegasque Motorboat Federation, as well as the participation of the drivers of the Roca Jet Club (Kilian Miano and Loren Pouget), also affiliated to the FMM.
The presence of Father Christmas and his elves, alongside Massimiliano Mordenti, provided a unique moment of sharing, combining a passion for sport, closeness to the public and the magic of Christmas, which was particularly appreciated by children and families.
A season looking to the future
Between world titles, world records, international victories, ecological commitment, electrical innovation and community outreach, the 2024-2025 sporting season fully illustrates the values upheld by Monegasque powerboating: excellence, innovation, responsibility and sharing.
These are solid foundations for approaching the coming seasons with ambition and determination, in the service of sport and the international reputation of the Principality of Monaco.
