Lake Bellegarde, one of the training grounds for French Aquabike riders, recently hosted one of the stages of the Yamaha Jet Blaster Slalom Chalenge. The aim of this friendly competition is to promote the 4th generation Wave Blaster, a small, agile and dynamic saddle-mounted personal watercraft (PWC) designed for sporty, fun riding.
The event brought together 26 riders, including three women, to compete on a timed course. Among them were a number of athletes preparing for the event, who seized the opportunity to test this new model under racetrack conditions.
At the end of the event, the results highlighted the diversity of the field, with Lisa Caussin-Battaglia, one of the female participants, taking 11th place overall and winning her category.
This friendly event is part of a strategy to raise the profile of Yamaha, which is banking on the accessibility and performance of its latest model to appeal to a public looking for thrills on the water.
In a few days’ time, all eyes will be on Poland, where the UIM European Aquabike Championships will kick off, bringing together the continental elite for another series of high-stakes events.
